Welcome to the Parish of Lund and the Church of S John the Evangelist.
Our parish is made up of the villages of Clifton and Newton-with-Scales, and Salwick - a scattered hamlet.
We also look after Lea Town, a small village that’s officially part of one of our neighbouring parishes.
We’re part of the Diocese of Blackburn, the Church of England in Lancashire.
We are a member church of Churches Together in Kirkham and District.
The life of the church revolves around the Sunday Eucharist - 8am (Said) and 10.30am (Sung).
There's also a very child-friendly Children's Eucharist that takes place once a month.
People who perhaps aren't used to coming to church find this Eucharist very approachable. Sometimes known as Holy Communion, the Eucharist was instituted by Jesus Himself (Mk -25) and is the source and summit of all that we do together.
The times of the Eucharists can be found in the section 'What's on'.
Perhaps the life of our church can be summed up by the reply Jesus gave to one of the Pharisees about the summary of the Law: 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself' (Mt -39).
We have an average congregation of 75 each Sunday, made up of all ages from the very young to the not so young (but still young at heart).
A very warm welcome awaits everyone - regular and non-regular members of the congregation.
